Al Hassan Group supports 2nd Al Wafa Forum 2014 for children with special needs (17 Aug 2014)
In line with its commitment to support initiatives that have a positive impact on the community and environment, the Al Hassan Group continued to provide its support to the Wadi Kalbooh team Nizwa Club in cooperation with Al Wafa centre for Disabled children in Nizwa for the second year.
The Al Hassan Group is happy to associate with the Al Wafa Forum for the second year in their noble endeavour to provide greater assistance and care differently abled children and in the process ensuring a better quality of life for them.
The forum was conducted by Jamal bin Nasser Vice President of Wadi Kalbooh team which brought together children from Al Wafa centers in Al Dakhliya Governorate(Nizwa, Bidbid, Izki, Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar and Bahla) in a variety of activities, competitions, field trips etc that helped put a smile on their faces. The ultimate objective was to connect the children with their peers in the wider community.
The 4 days long programme organized fun activities that included children’s visit to the LuLu shopping center in Nizwa, followed by a training workshop for the clerks who work in various administrative positions in the different centers in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate. The training focused on important topics like the impact of media messages on a child’s intellect .The children were also taken for an educational field trip to a farm (Al-Bashaer Farm)to interact and learn more about farm animals. The series of activities were concluded with a sports day held at the Nizwa Sports Complex that witnessed enthusiastic participation from the children in football, handball, basketball and tug throw hoops.Sports Day was held under the patronage of His Highness Faisal bin Turki al Said, Deputy Chairman of the Special Olympics of Oman.
