Al Hassan backs AHK Businesswomen Charity Iftar to raise donations for Dar al Atta's Women’s Empowerment Project (13 August 2013)
In line with its commitment to support initiatives that have a positive impact on the community and environment, the Al Hassan Group recently supported the German Industry & Commerce office (AHK Oman) that hosted a "German- Omani Businesswomen Charity Iftar", at The Chedi Muscat Hotel. Businesswomen from various German and Omani companies got together to jointly spread the message of kindness in the holy month of Ramadan and to intensify their mutual connections. The proceeds of the event were handed over to Dar Al Atta, one of Oman’s most respected charitable organizations to support their Women’s Empowerment Program.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Maqbool Ali Salman, Managing Director of the Group said, "As a responsible corporate entity, Al Hassan is deeply committed to the community. We believe that women’s empowerment programmes play a vital role in the growth of the National Economy and initiatives such as these are important to aid underprivileged women who want to work in order to build a meaningful life. This in turn encourages the building of a strong society that values and cares for its people."
Dar Al Ataa’s mission is to support underprivileged locals through different projects. This specific project supports Omani women who are willing to work, however are unable to train and need some guidance. Those women are given vocational training opportunities in different fields and are either provided with Job opportunities or with necessary equipment to start up a small business to be able to work and support their families.
