Al Hassan Engineering celebrates the completion of 1 million safe man-hours at Emergency Water Storage Reservoir Project (25 Jun 2013)

Al Hassan Engineering Co. SAOG (AHEC), Oman's leading EPC Contractor added another feather to its cap recently with the achievement of 1 million LTI Free man-hours at the Emergency Reservoir Project. To mark this milestone, AHEC organized a safety ceremony at the Hotel Muscat Holiday in Muscat that was graced by Representatives of Public Authority for Electricity & Water (PAEW) and Sogreah in addition to senior management members of AHEC.

In 2012, AHEC was awarded the prestigious project for the Construction of Emergency Water Storage Reservoirs by PAEW, the scope of work for which includes the construction of six emergency water reservoirs at four key locations in the capital. The biggest of the reservoirs will be constructed in Qurum with two units each having a storage capacity of 73,000m³. The project is crucial as the Emergency Water Storage Reservoirs will be a back-up facility to be automatically deployed in case of a supply crisis or technical breakdown of the Muscat Water Supply Scheme.

Mr. Peter Hall, CEO - AHEC congratulated PAEW, Sogreah & the Emergency Water Reservoir Project team on this significant achievement. Mr. Hall emphasized that AHEC understands the dedication and hardships that are involved in the achievement of such milestones and this is why AHEC invests a lot of time and resources to implement the best HSE standards of the industry for all its projects and it is really encouraging when these efforts bear fruit.
